1989 New Route For Children’s Parade

A new children’s Parade route will be held in conjunction with the North Thompson Fall Fair. The route will start at B’s Bulk Foods & Deli downtown, then proceed up Barriere Town Rd.,turning right on East Lake Road., then left at the Fair’s hall. Anyone up to the age of 12 may be a part of the parade; just line up at B’s Bulk by 10:30 am. Judging starts right away, with the parade under way at 11:30am Sunday, September 3rd.

All children are encouraged to participate in the parade. Just come dressed up in costumes and/or dress your bikes up and bring them along with you too. A float will be available for young and disabled children, who can’t walk the entire distance. At the end of the parade children will be going into the arena where 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be given out by the Fall Fair Queen.

An added treat at this year’s parade will be the participation of the original characters, Ronald McDonald, Hamburglar and Birdie. The children who participate will be given a Ronald McDonald balloon and a Ronald McDonald glass.

Come out and make this year’s children’s parade a success. Adults, don’t forget to buy your Fall Fair Grounds pass early so you can follow your kids into the grounds as they go in. The main parade will take place as usual on Monday, September 4th.
