Pre‑Sale Tickets

Secure your spot before the weekend kicks off! Pre‑sale admission tickets can be purchased online HERE. Pre‑sale ensures you skip the gate queues and helps with planning—perfect if you’re organizing a group visit or just want peace of mind. 

Gate Admission

No ticket in advance? No worries! Admission will also be available at the entrance gates throughout the Fall Fair weekend. Just pull in when you arrive and purchase your tickets—cash or card accepted.

Getting Here

Barriere is located just 45 minutes north of Kamloops, making it an easy day trip or weekend getaway.

  • Driving: Follow Highway 5 North. Look for signs directing you to the Fall Fair Grounds.

  • Parking: Free on-site parking is available, with designated spots for accessible vehicles. Arrive early for the best spots!

About Us

The North Thompson Fall Fair 

The North Thompson Fall Fair & Rodeo is a cherished annual event held every Labour Day weekend in Barriere, British Columbia. Celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2024, this three-day festival is a vibrant showcase of agriculture, rodeo sports, and community spirit, drawing visitors from across the province and beyond. 

Established in 1950, the fair was born from the vision of local farm and ranch families aiming to celebrate and promote agricultural life in the North Thompson Valley. Over the decades, it has grown into one of the region’s premier events, emphasizing livestock exhibitions, crop displays, and rural traditions. The fair’s mission is to encourage the advancement of agriculture and farm living, with a focus on livestock, crops, poultry, and various household arts

 

Rodeo Excitement

A highlight of the weekend is the British Columbia Rodeo Association’s Polaris Championship Finals. Top rodeo athletes compete in events like bull riding, barrel racing, and team roping, vying for provincial titles. The rodeo brings thrilling action and showcases the skills and bravery of the competitors

Community and Volunteer Spirit

The success of the North Thompson Fall Fair & Rodeo is driven by the dedication of its volunteers. With a volunteer board and over 100 community members contributing their time and effort, the event embodies the strong community spirit of Barriere. The fairgrounds, including the North Thompson Agriplex, host numerous events throughout the year, serving as a hub for regional activities .​
