1974 The Fair Was A Big Success

Without a question the 25th annual fall fair was the best ever. There were more exhibits, a better parade, a fantastic midway, exciting chariot races, a terrific auctioneer, all the dignatories one could wish for, and it all wound up with the best dance that has ever been staged in Barriere. Harry Leavitt and his executive had to be proud of the show they put on. Possibly the high light, if one could pick one out of such a splendid performance, had to be the gathering of the past Queens over the twenty five years the Fall Fair was in existence.
Any group that can reach back over twenty five years and enthuse seventeen former Queens to return for a reunion has earned a high vote of praise.
The parade was outstanding. When a community this size can muster a parade with over fifty entrants there is a real community spirit. the names of all the entrants will be included in the next issue of the Bulletin. We have tried to record some of the highlights of the festival in picture, thanks to the efforts of Doug Struthers our inexhaustible local photographer, and the financial support of Fadear Lumber, who have proven to be such a good corporate citizen, but we do not have the space in our little paper to do justice to the effort that was put out by so many. It is our intention to publish a full report of the winners of the many entries in the Fair next week.
