1970 Labour Day Fall Fair Claimed Big Success
The 21st annual North Thompson Fall Fair was held Labour Day, Sept. 7 at the new grounds in Barriere under mostly wet skies with a few breaks for sunshine.
However the damp weather did not discourage a large crowd which turned out to enjoy the many exhibits from far and near.
The different sections drew many quality entries and one section which drew much interest was the pigeon section, new this year and organized by the Kamloops Pigeon Club.
4-H displays showed the growing popularity of these youngsters' clubs and exhibits were of high quality.
During the day the Rangers Orchestra played at the grounds and later on in the evening for the dance.
All in all a wonderful time was had by all who attended.
